Tianna Knuckles Honored by College Sports Madness

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville junior guard Tianna Knuckles has been named College Sports Madness' Big South Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the publication announced today. It is the first award for the Bulldog program this season.

 

The Wendell, N.C. native finished the week with a pair of double-digit scoring performances, including a 24-point, 10 rebound effort at Wofford. She finished last week's two games with a 15-for-32 combined shooting effort (9-for-19 from three-point range) while adding 11 rebounds, three steals, three blocks, and an assist in playing a combined 53 minutes over the two games.

 

Knuckles and the Bulldogs are 2-1 on the young season and continue play on Tuesday night with a 5:00 p.m. contest at regional rival Western Carolina. Asheville wraps up the week with a Friday afternoon contest against USC Upstate at 3:00 p.m. inside Kimmel Arena.
