ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's basketball head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick has announced the additions of Lindsay Puckett as the Bulldogs' Director of Basketball Operations and Carly Sprouse as Director of Program Development.
Puckett's day-to-day duties will primarily consist of assisting with team travel, video operations and scouting among other administrative duties. No stranger to the Big South, Lindsay attended High Point University and was a four-year letter winner for the women's basketball team.
She helped lead the Panthers to two Big South Conference Championship games and made a postseason appearance in the WNIT in 2014. She also helped her team to a regular season title in 2014. Puckett was a sharp shooter from the 3-point line and a tough competitor for the Panthers.
“We are pleased to have Lindsay on staff and are excited about the competitive edge she will bring being so close to the game and having been a great player in our conference. She will bring great perspective and playing experience to our staff,” Kirkpatrick said.
Originally from Eden, North Carolina, Lindsay attended Rockingham County High School and earned a B.A. in Human Relations with a double minor in Athletic Coaching and Sports Management from High Point University in May 2015.
Sprouse joins the staff after graduating from Western Carolina University in August of 2015 where she was the Head Manager for the Catamounts from 2011-2015.
She handled day to day operations, travel coordination, video coordination, assisted with equipment and recruiting and was an Assistant Director of the KM Basketball Summer Camps while receiving her undergraduate degree. While completing her degree, Sprouse spent this past summer working with the Asheville staff as an intern where she helped with recruiting, marketing and the production of the Kirkpatrick Basketball Summer Camps.
“I knew when Carly interned for us and worked camp this past summer that we would like to keep her on in some capacity. She is detail oriented, gets things done in a timely manner and is easy to work with. She has a bright future ahead of her and we are thankful to have her on board for this season.”
Sprouse is from Waynesville, North Carolina where she attended and graduated from Tuscola High School in 2011 before attending Western Carolina. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration in Sport Management and also received a diploma from The Honor's College.
