Bulldogs Picked Eighth in Big South Preseason Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville women's basketball and fourth-year head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick were selected eighth in the Big South Conference's 2015-16 preseason poll, announced at the conference's media day Monday in Charlotte, N.C.
Receiving six first-place votes, Liberty University was selected as the preseason favorites.
Asheville finished 9-22 overall and 7-13 in Big South play a season ago, good for eighth in the conference standings. The Bulldogs bring back six upperclassmen to mix in with five freshmen and three sophomores.
Asheville opens the regular season at East Tennessee State Nov. 13 and Big South Conference play begins Nov. 30 as the Bulldogs open at Presbyterian.
