ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Three consecutive sets saw the UNC Asheville volleyball team jump out to quick starts, with the Bulldogs rolling on Saturday afternoon to a 3-0 victory over Presbyterian in Big South Conference action.
THE TURNING POINT
Up two sets, the Bulldogs left no doubt in the third set as they rolled off 13 consecutive points to move the set score from 5-4 to 18-4 on their way to closing out the afternoon.
NOTABLES
-Senior Chrissy Lakatos finished with a match-high 15 kills for Asheville, adding seven digs and two block assists to her stat line.
-Katie Davis passed out 21 assists and Amanda Powers added 13 assists of her own.
-Asheville notched a set hitting percentage of .314 in the first set then posted back-to-back hitting percentages of .324 in the final two sets.
-As a team, the Bulldogs finished with 12 block assists, including three each from Katie Davis and Diana Enriquez.
-Five of the Bulldogs' 10 match victories have now come in three sets.
-Presbyterian has now lost four straight matches and by a total of 12-1.
-Since 1994, Asheville is now 11-4 against Presbyterian.
