ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team welcomes the Presbyterian College Blue Hose on Saturday afternoon for a 2:00 p.m. contest at Kimmel Arena.

Saturday's game will be video-streamed live and can be seen for free on ESPN3. The game will also be broadcast live on WPEK Radio (880-AM) and can be heard on iHeartRadio via the free mobile app.

Asheville (5-15, 4-7 BSC) fell to the Blue Hose, 69-57 back on January 3 in Clinton, S.C. Sophomore Tianna Knuckles led the Bulldogs with 14 points in the first meeting, while freshman Bronaza Fitzgerald added 11 points and six rebounds. Senior Shonese Jones also finished in double figures with 10 points of her own.

The Blue & White are coming off a loss at Liberty on Tuesday, 62-58 but have won two of the last four league games. Senior guard Brittany Gwyn was brilliant for Asheville as she finished with a season-high 17 points. She went 5-of-6 from beyond the arc and also had a season-best seven assists. Her five treys is a new career high. Presbyterian (11-9, 6-5 BSC) enters Saturday's contest following a 51-42 home victory over Campbell and are winners of four of their last five games.

“Presbyterian is the best defensive team in the league and they are always well prepared for every contest," said head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick. "Our team is playing well together as of late and we will need to continue to shoot the ball well and play great team defense in order to have an opportunity to beat a tough PC team. We are looking forward to hosting them at home tomorrow in front of a nice crowd.”

Presbyterian leads the all-time series with a 9-7 record, as Asheville has only one win in the series since 2011. The Bulldogs last win in the series came on December 30, 2013, a 54-47 win over the Blue Hose in Kimmel Arena.

Shonese Jones leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 11.1 points per game, while fellow senior Brittany Gwyn averages 2.7 assists per game and sophomore KJ Weaver averages 5.8 rebounds per contest. Through all 20 games, Asheville ranks second in three-point field goal percentage (29.5), behind only Presbyterian's 24.9 percent.

Over the last five games for the Blue Hose, Keyonna Allen leads the team with 13.8 points and 1.4 steals to lead the team in those categories. Aianna Kelly's 5.4 rebounds stand as a team-best and she leads the team with 3.0 assists over the team's last five games.
