Women's Basketball to be on ESPN3 on Saturday vs. PC

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team is preparing for Saturday's Big South Conference contest against Presbyterian College at Kimmel Arena that will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3 starting at 2 p.m.
Asheville (5-15, 4-7 BSC) has won two of its last four games is and six points away from being 4-0 in this stretch. The Bulldogs downed Coastal Carolina last Saturday afternoon, 68-61 in front of a record-breaking crowd of 1,581 fans at Kimmel Arena. Asheville nearly pulled off a huge upset Tuesday when the Bulldogs fell at Big South-leader Liberty, 62-58. Senior guard Shonese Jones leads Asheville in scoring with an 11.2 average. Senior guard Brittany Gwyn enjoyed a sensational game at Liberty on Tuesday with 17 points and seven assists. She sank a career-high five 3-pointers in the contest.
The Blue & White face a formidable foe in Presbyterian College. The Blue Hose will come into Kimmel Arena with wins in four of its last five games and with eight victories in its last nine contests against Asheville. The Blue Hose (11-9, 6-5 BSC) are very good defensively as opponents are scoring an average of just 49.8 points per game and teams shoot just .335 from the field against them. Junior forward Keyonna Allen leads PC in scoring with a 9.8 scoring average. Freshman guard Janie Miles provides an outside threat with 36 treys made. She averages 8.6 points per game.
