ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team returns home to Kimmel Arena following a three-game road swing when they face defending Big South regular-season champions, High Point, in a 7:00 p.m. contest Tuesday evening.

Tuesday's game will be video-streamed live and can be seen for free on the Big South Network.

Asheville (3-12, 2-4 BSC) is coming off a tough, 60-55 road loss at Campbell on Saturday and has dropped four-straight conference games.  Meanwhile, High Point (10-6, 6-1 BSC) enters the game on a three game conference winning streak.

"We lost a heart breaker on Saturday and are glad to be back home getting ready for our next opportunity and a chance to get better,” said head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrrick.  “High Point is an exceptional team with a high powered offense and we will need to have a better collective effort from our team to give ourselves an opportunity. We also have a lot of weapons and when we get a consistent and solid effort from our roster on the same night we will begin to see the possibilities of this team."

Sophomore guard Chatori Major has helped add a scoring punch off of the bench over the last five games averaging 8.2 points per game during the stretch.  For the season, Major is averaging 5.4 points per contest.  Senior Shonese Jones continues to lead the team in scoring with a 10.6 average and 11.2 in league games.  Senior Jeannie Buckner (5.9) and sophomore KJ Weaver are the team's leaders in rebounding.

The Panthers have won 12 straight against Asheville, including all three meetings last season.  High Point won 71-66 in Kimmel Arena on January 16, 2014.  HPU leads the all-time series 33-11 and are 13-4 all-time at Asheville.

BULLDOG NOTES

Senior guard Shonese Jones is currently the Big South's all-time active career leading scorer with 1,186 points.  Shonese also has 97 career steals, needing just three more to become the 11th player in school history to reach 100 career steals.

Sophomore guard Chatori Major has scored in double figures in three of Asheville's last five games, including 10 points at Campbell on Saturday.

Ten Bulldogs average over 10 minutes of playing time per game, with Brittany Gwyn playing a team-high 30.9 minutes per game.
