Women's Basketball Will Have Two Play in Europe

The UNC Asheville women's basketball program will have two of its graduates playing pro basketball this year in Europe.

 

Former Bulldog center Kelli Riles (2010-13) will play in Mersin, Turkey for the Mersin Meskl. She played last season in Germany for New Basket Oberhausen from August through December and then finished the season in Izmir, Turkey for Izmir EDA.

 

Kelli completed her career with 1,039 points and 1,037 rebounds. Her rebounds is the second most in school history and third most in Big South Conference play. She is one of just two UNC Asheville players to score more than 1,000 points and grab more than 1,000 rebounds.

 

Lindsey has signed a contract with a pro team in Romania and will play for the Tirgo Mures this year.

 

Montgomery played for the Bulldogs from 2007-2011. She was a four-year starter for Asheville and finished her career with 1,107 points. Lindsey is 10th all-time in career scoring for the Blue & White.
