Men's Tennis Stopped by Top Seed Presbyterian College

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) – No. 1 seed Presbyterian College defeated  No. 8 seed UNC Asheville 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the Big South Conference Men's Tennis Championship Thursday afternoon at Gardner-Webb University.  The Blue Hose will make their third straight semifinal appearance.

 

Presbyterian took the doubles point with wins on court two and three.  Ben Kelley and Ryan Miller defeated Josh Swindler and Daniel Kripak, 8-3 at No. 2 after Grayson Mills and Diego Manzanas topped Will Goldberg and Thomas Panoulas, 8-2 in the third position.

 

In singles, Danny Bruce beat Thomas Panoulas, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3; Ben Kelley rallied for a three-set win over Brett Landau, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 on court four and Gonzalo Asis downed Will Goldberg, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.

 

The Blue Hose (25-6) move on to Friday's semifinals where they will face the No. 4 seed Campbell 10:00am. The Bulldogs end their season with an 8-15 overall record.
