Men's Tennis Falls at Liberty, 5-2

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty won a close doubles points and close singles matches as the Flames edged UNC Asheville, 5-2 in Big South Conference men's tennis action Monday afternoon at the Hershey Tennis Courts.
The Bulldogs (1-2, 7-9) won at #1 doubles as Brett Landau and Alex Croker defeated Jorge Azuero and Alejandro Llamas, 8-3 but lost at #2 and #3 doubles to allow the Flames to take a 1-0 lead.
Asheville surged ahead in singles completion as Landau won in straight sets at #3 light, 6-3, 6-2 over Azuero and Will Goldberg downed Guillen Secanell at #6 flight, 6-3, 6-0.
The Bulldogs led 2-1 but couldn't hold Liberty off. The Flames won the next four singles matches to improve their record to 9-9 overall and 2-1 in league action.
Asheville hosts Presbyterian College this Thursday at the ARC starting at 2 p.m.
