Bronaza Fitzgerald Named Big South Freshman of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (BigSouthSports.com) – UNC Asheville center Bronaza Fitzgerald (Danville, Va.) has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week for games played Dec. 15-21, the conference announced today.
Fitzgerald recorded averages of 11.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game last week. She shot 58.3 percent (7-for-12) from the field and added a block in each of Asheville's two contests. On Wednesday against Western Carolina, she posted career highs in points (16) and rebounds (10) and contributed a block and a steal for the Bulldogs.
Fitzgerald becomes the second Bulldogs to be named the leagues' freshman of the week after Tiffany Wilson won the award last week.
UNC Asheville returns to action on Tuesday, December 30 when it hosts Liberty University at Kimmel Arena at 7:00 p.m.
