ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's basketball team hits the road on Sunday when the Bulldogs travel to USC Upstate for a 3 p.m. battle with the Spartans.

Sunday's contest can be seen on ESPN3.

Asheville (3-7) hopes to end a three-game losing streak to the Spartans. USC Upstate (6-5) is unbeaten at home this year with a 5-0 mark. They have won the last two contests against the Bulldogs by a total of three points. The Blue & White missed a three-pointer two years ago in Spartanburg before losing, 54-52. They missed two shots in the final three seconds of a 67-66 loss to USC Upstate at Kimmel Arena.

“USC Upstate is a match-up that has provided a lot of excitement the past two times we have met,” stated Bulldog coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick. “They play hard and well at home and have tremendous depth. We are looking forward to Sunday's game and a chance to get better."

The Bulldogs look to bounce back after a 79-66 loss to a red-shot shooting Western Carolina squad Wednesday afternoon at Kimmel Arena. Bre Fitzgerald led Asheville with a career-high 16 points and 10 rebounds. Tianna Knuckles added 16 points for the Blue & White.

Knuckles leads the Bulldogs with a 10.5 scoring average. Shonese Jones is next with a 9.5 average. Jeannie Bucker tops Asheville in rebounding with a 6.5 mark.
