Mike Shildt to Headline Baseball Night in Asheville on Jan. 30

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville alumnus and recently named Memphis Redbird manager Mike Shildt will be the guest speaker for Baseball Night in Asheville starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30 at Kimmel Arena.
This exciting night will allow Bulldog fans to get a chance to meet UNC Asheville's new coaching staff and meet the 2015 team. There will be a Silent and Live Auction on items ranging from signed MLB memorabilia to vacation resorts and much more. All proceeds will benefit the Baseball Enhancement Fund.
Tickets are $40 per person and $250 per table. The table will include seven seats and an Asheville baseball player sitting at your table. To purchase tickets, call 828-258-7900 or go on-line at uncabulldogs/tickets.
The event will begin with a cocktail reception from 5-6 p.m. There will be a dinner with dessert followed by the live auction and a speech from Mike Shildt.
Shildt played for the Bulldogs from 1987-90. He was an assistant coach for the Asheville program from 1992-93. The Charlotte native has been in St. Louis Cardinals organization for 10 years and has been a manager the past six seasons. He has won three championships, two in rookie ball in Johnson City and one in Double A at Springfield. Mike is known as one of the finest hitting instructors in professional baseball and was just appointed to his new post as manager at Memphis this week.
