ROCK HILL, S.C. – The UNC Asheville men's tennis team posted some good results this past weekend at the Winthrop Fall Invitational. This weekend's tournament was supposed to be held over three days from Friday through Sunday but Saturday's action got washed due to rain.

Josh Swinder led the way for the Bulldogs as he reached the finals of the B Singles flight. He won three matches along way before falling to Brandon Mills of Presbyterian College in three sets during Sunday's final. Along the way, he downed opponents from North Carolina Wesleyan, PC and Gardner-Webb to reach the finals. Swindler won all three matches in straight sets.

Alex Croker took third place in the A Singles Flight. He won two matches to get to the semifinals over opponents from PC and North Carolina Wesleyan. Croker lost in the semifinals to eventual champion Treymayne Mitchell of Winthrop. He bounced back to win the third-place match over top-seeded Artem Khrapko of Davidson in straight sets.

In Flight D Singles flight, Reid Dillon claimed the consolation crown of that flight. He lost in the first round but roared back to win the next three matches in straight sets to win the consolation bracket.

Other singles highlights included John Schubel taking fifth place with two wins in B singles. Brett Landau took fifth in Flight C with two victories.

The Bulldogs will finish up the fall season next weekend at the Wofford Invitational.
