ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's swimming team picked up its first dual meet of the year with a 135-68 victory over Brenau University Friday afternoon.
Freshman Alejandra Sanchez won two events to lead the Bulldog effort on Friday. Galen Broido, Ashley Ireland, Alessandra Troncoso and Emily Werth all won individual races for Asheville. The Bulldogs also captured both relay events on the day.
“I was happy with how the team stepped up and raced this afternoon. We had a lot of strong finishes and season best times today,” stated Bulldog coach Elizabeth Lykins. “The team looks forward to carrying our momentum into tomorrow's meets.”
UNC Asheville is in action again Saturday morning with the Bulldogs host a tri-meet with Gardner-Webb and Marshall starting at 11 a.m.
