Men's Soccer Falls at Coastal Carolina, 4-0

CONWAY, S.C. - #23 Coastal Carolina scored three times in the second half to break open a close game as the Chanticleers downed visiting UNC Asheville 4-0 in Big South Conference men's soccer action Saturday afternoon at CCU Soccer Field.
The powerful Chants (9-3-0, 3-0-0 BSC) won their sixth straight match and avenged their only league loss of the season last year which was to the Bulldogs (1-6-2, 0-3-1 BSC).
Asheville goalkeeper Dan Jackson kept Asheville in it for a while with nine saves, including six in the second half. CCU enjoyed a 29-3 advantage in shots and had 14 corner kicks to none for the Blue & White.
Joel Perez scored in the 20th minute for the home team to put the Chants in front for good at 1-0. Jackson kept Coastal off the scoreboard the rest of the half with three saves.
In the second half, Tommy Gudmundsson scored twice within a minute to put CCU in front 3-0. He scored in the 64th and 65th minute.
Asheville has a week off before hosting another strong league opponent in Winthrop at Greenwood Field on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 4:30 p.m.
