Six Swimmers Honored for Work in Classroom

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's swimming team had six student-athletes selected to the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association's All-Academic Team, the league office announced recently.

The conference's all-academic team takes into account all student-athletes that earned a 3.0 or better grade-point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale in the fall semester and during the student-athlete's competitive season.

UNC Asheville brought women's swimming back last fall after not having a program for 36 years.

The six Bulldogs who made the CCSA All-Academic Team include Liz Acker, Galen Broido, Hallie Gillespie, Ashley Ireland, Kristen Lawson and Alessandra Troncoso.
