Bellard Wins Javelin at WCU

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – John Bellard won the javelin on Friday to highlight UNC Asheville's first day of competition at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic held at Western Carolina.
The majority of the completion will continue on Saturday.
Bellard won his first ever javelin collegiate completion by coming in first place with a throw of 52.01 meters. Sam Barbeau earned a point for Asheville with an eighth-place with a throw of 41.19 meters.
Kurt Hibert took third in the discus with a throw of 44.42 meters.
On the women's side, Ashlei Clodfelter finished in fourth place in the javelin with a throw of 30.76 meters.
