ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Former UNC Asheville pitcher Alan DeRatt has not given up on his dream of reaching the major leagues. Despite being cut the by Colorado Rockies this winter, DeRatt is still pitching professionally.

This summer he's pitching for the Sioux Falls (S.D.) Pheasants of the independent American Association. Asheville Citizen-Times sports reporter Tyler Norris Goode caught up to Alan recently to see how he was doing so far. Below is a link to the story that was in Sunday's Asheville Citizen-Times.
