ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team opened Big South Conference play with a thrilling 5-2 victory over league newcomer Campbell at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown Saturday afternoon.

The victory was Asheville's (5-3, 1-0 BSC) fourth straight win against a strong Campbell squad that had defeated the Bulldogs the past three seasons when the Camels were in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

Asheville won all three doubles matches to jump out to a 1-0 lead. In singles play, the Bulldogs were able to win two three-set matches to take control of the match. Senior Jonas Brobeck continued his great player in the season with his sixth straight singles win at #3 flight. He won in three sets over Davie Clavera, 7-5, 6-7, 7-5.
