Women's Basketball Falls to Presbyterian College, 62-45

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Presbyterian College scored the first 16 points of the game as the Blue Hose defeated UNC Asheville 62-45 in Big South Conference women's basketball action Saturday afternoon at Kimmel Arena.
The Bulldogs were led by freshman forward Leah Wormack's 15 points. Kelli Riles pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds.
PC (10-12, 4-7 BSC) was led by Mariah Pietrowski with 17 points. Dria David finished with 14 points, while Shonda Burnside added 13 points.
Asheville suffered through a tough game shooting as the Bulldogs shot just .273 (15-of-55) from the field.
PC scored the first 16 points of the game as Asheville missed its first 12 shots from the field before scoring on a lay-up from Lindsey Thompson at the 12:54 mark.
The Blue Hose built the lead to as mcuh as 20 at 30-10 with five minutes left in the half. Asheville rallied to close to 32-17 at halftime with the final five points of the period.
In the second half, the visitors quickly put the game away as PC led 50-25 as Kristen Stevens knocked down a three-pointer at the 15:20 mark. The Bulldogs could get no closer than the final margin.
The Bulldogs play Monday night at home vs. Winthrop starting at 7 p.m.
