Ristic Captures 60-Meter Hurdles in Record Time

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Sophomore sprinter Milan Ristic finished first and set a school record in the 60-meter hurdles to highlight UNC Asheville's indoor track and field's team's performance at the Niswonger Invitational on Saturday.
Ristic took first in the hurdles event with a school record time of 8.00. It was the third time he set a school record in that event this year.
There were a lot of other highlights on the day for both teams.
On the women's side, the Bulldogs did a great job in the 800 meters. Alyska Kalmeijer finished second in the event at a time of 2:26. Emily Pineda took seventh at 2:27.
In the one mile run, junior Melanie Kulesz came in third with a time of 5:19. In another one mile run, Asheville placed four runners in the top 14 as Adrian Etheridge took fifth (5:23), Rachel Carson came in sixth (5:24), Kasey Briggs finished 11th (5:30) and Clair Powell took 14th (5:32).
The women's distance medley team had a solid fifth-place finish as they had a time of 12:31.
On the men's side, Kevin Paradise had a good showing in the 5000 meters at a time of 15:39. In the 800 meters, Sebastian Paniagua came in eighth at 2:02, while Chris Murray finished at 2:08.
