Rocky's Readers Day on Saturday

The UNC Asheville Athletics Department, Asheville City Schools, and Buncombe County Schools have teamed up for the 4th straight year to bring children around Asheville and Buncombe County "Rocky's Readers"- an incentive based holiday reading program sponsored by TD Bank.
Schools were able to take advantage of a Reading Rally during December where UNC Asheville Student-Athletes visited elementary schools and encouraged them to read while they were on break. Students were asked to read five books over the holiday break. All students who completed the reading and turned in their bookmark received two tickets to cheer on the Bulldog Women's Basketball team this Saturday, January 21st against Gardner-Webb.
West Buncombe Elementary School led this year's competition with a 78.41% participation rate for their 630 students. New City Christian School, Woodfin Elementary, Weaverville Elementary, and Pisgah Elementary wrap up this year's Top 5.
All Rocky's Readers participants at Saturday's game will receive a ruler courtesy of UNC Asheville and TD Bank.
