Bulldogs Earn 3-0 Victory Over North Carolina Central

DURHAM, N.C. - Senior outside hitter Cindi Miller tallied a match-high 13 kills to help lead the UNC Asheville volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over North Carolina Central on Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

Miller hit for a .385 average, committing only three attack errors on the night. Hallie Morse and Jaimie Dorfman collected 13 and 11 assists, respectively, while splitting time at setter while Anna Moore tallied nine kills. With the win the Bulldogs improve to 6-6 on the season while NCCU falls to 0-12.

Asheville earned a 25-20 victory in the first set, winning on a kill by Miller. The second set saw the Bulldogs 25-16, scoring the final point on a block by Moore and Holly Shelton. In the third set a ball-handling error by Jzima-Malaki Kalao gave the Bulldogs a 25-20 set win.

The Eagles were led on offense by Shantal Moore who tallied a team-high 11 kills. Kalao posted 22 assists and Raven King tallied seven digs to lead NCCU.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday evening as they will open Big South Conference play against Gardner-Webb. It will be the first match at home in the Justice Center of 2011 for the Blue & White, who defeated GWU earlier this season 3-2 in a non-conference match.
