ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville baseball team will take a modest two-game winning streak into tonight's game at Wofford College. First pitch at King Field is at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs (12-20) picked up a victory Tuesday night against mountain rival Western Carolina, 7-4 at McCormick Field. Asheville rallied from early 1-0 and 4-3 deficits to pick up their second win of the year against the Catamounts.

Tom Smith's team faces a Wofford club that has a 14-19 overall record but is 13-8 at home. The Terriers are coached by former Bulldog player and assistant coach Todd Interdonato.

"We want to keep winning," stated Smith. "Wofford has a good team and is extremely tough to beat at home. They took two games from The Citadel a few weeks ago and have some impressive non-conference wins."

The Bulldogs pounded out 14 hits in the victory against Western Carolina. Ian Graham drove in four runs, while Robert McIntosh had three hits and scored three runs.

Wofford and Asheville played last year in Spartanburg with the Bulldogs posting a 16-6 victory as they posted 15 hits in the win. The teams will play next Wednesday night (April 20) at McCormick Field.

After tonight's game, Asheville plays its next seven games at home. The Bulldogs face an important Big South Conference series with High Point starting Friday afternoon at Greenwood Field.
