Diamond Dogs Head To Georgia State For Two-Game Series

03.08.2011 | Baseball

ATLANTA, Ga.  – The UNC Asheville baseball team will travel to Colonial Athletic Association foe Georgia State on Tuesday and Wednesday for a two-game series with the Panthers as the Bulldogs look to snap a six game losing skid after beginning the 2011 campaign 4-0.

The Bulldogs are coming off of two losses to Charlotte this past weekend, falling by the scores of 3-2 and 6-5. Asheville received strong outings on the mound from starter Ryan Dull in game one and reliever Grier Harrington in game two. Overall the Blue & White are 4-6 on the season with a 1-5 mark on the road.

After five straight games away from home, the Georgia State baseball team (9-4) returns for a ten-game homestand at the Field at Panthersville. The Panthers come off a week in which they knocked off two power conference teams in #23 Georgia Tech at Russ Chandler Stadium and Big Ten heavyweight Iowa at the Mississippi State Tournament in Starkville, Miss. The Panthers dropped the final three games of the tournament to Iowa and MSU.

Georgia State holds a 7-4 all-time series advantage over the Big South member. The Panthers have won three straight over the Bulldogs, including a 17-2 victory in the teams' most recent meeting, last season.

First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday and 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Tuesday's game will be broadcast live via internet radio on WRAS 88.5 FM out of Atlanta. Click HERE for the website.
