ASHEVILLE, N.C. - UNC Asheville was able to capture the doubles point but Georgia State won five singles matches to post a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs at the Crowne Plaza Tennsi Center Sunday afternoon.
Asheville earned the doubles point thanks to wins from Matt Waissen and Jonas Brobeck at the #1 flight and Adrien Langeard and Thomas Rees at the #3 flight.
In singles, the Bulldogs got a win from Waissen at #3 in three sets. He defeated Breon Badger of Georgia State, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4. But Asheville lost two matches in three sets as the Panthers improved to 17-5 on the season.
The Bulldogs (6-5) open Big South Conference play next Sunday (March 20) vs. Radford at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center at 1 p.m.
