Women's Basketball Hosts Asheville Collegiate Invitational on Saturday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Kimmel Arena will be the site this Saturday for the inaugural Asheville Collegiate Basketball Invitational featuring women's basketball teams from the Southern Conference and Big South Conference. Saturday's action will begin at 2 p.m. when Radford faces Wofford, followed by Appalachian State battling UNC Asheville at 4:30 p.m.
Both games on Saturday will be televised locally by WMYA-TV (Channel 40) and can be seen via video-streaming for a small fee at www.uncabulldogs.com.
Tickets are available at the UNC Asheville Ticket Office. An adult ticket is $10 and good for both games. A youth ticket (ages 6-17) is $2 and also good for both games. All children below the age of five get in for free.
Asheville head coach Betsy Blose will be celebrating her 50th birthday on Saturday and fans can help her celebrate by bringing an unwrapped children's gift that will be donated to the St. Nicholas Project from Eblen Charities. All fans bringing a gift will get a free ticket to both games. In addition, Santa Claus will be making an appearance during the games and will be available to meet and greet the children that are there.
