FAIRFAX, Va. - The UNC Asheville women's basketball team is on the road Sunday afternoon when the Bulldogs face George Mason for the first time starting at 2 p.m. Sunday's game will be broadcast on 880-AM radio with the pre-game show starting at 1:45 p.m. The game can also be heard by free audio-streaming at www.uncabulldogs.com.

Asheville (2-2) is in search of its first road win of the young season. The Bulldogs have played two road contests this year at Western Carolina and at Furman. They led both games in the second half but just couldn't finish the game and fell in each contest.

"We've played well in both road games but just couldn't finish them off," commented Asheville coach Betsy Blose. "We're still a work in progress but we've got to start putting 40 minutes together."

The Bulldogs will face a tough task taking on the Patriots. George Mason is 3-1 on the year and under the direction of former Radford coach Jeri Porter.

"Jeri Porter is a good coach and she's getting the program going again which I knew she would do," added Blose. "We're going to have to play well for 40 minutes on Sunday."

Senior guard Lindsey Thompson leads the Bulldogs in scoring with a 14.7 average. Junior forward Kelli Riles tops Asheville in rebounding with a 9.8 mark.

The Bulldogs next home game at Kimmel Arena is on Wednesday when they host USC Upstate starting at 7 p.m.
