DURHAM, N.C. - ACC power Duke got two goals from Chris Tweed-Kent as the Blue Devils downed visiting UNC Asheville, 3-0 in men's collegiate soccer action Tuesday night at Duke Soccer Stadium.
Duke (8-6-1) controlled most of the match as it out-shot the Bulldogs 24-5. Asheville goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen kept the Bulldogs in the game with seven first-half saves.
The Blue Devils opened the scoring in the third minute when Andrew Wegner scored his team-leading 16th goal of the season at 3:04. He dribbled in all alone on Hurskainen and scored from 10 yards out.
Tweed-Kent picked up his first goal of the game at 31:54 when he scored on a deflection to put Duke in front 2-0.
Tweed-Kent finished the scoring at 68:15 off a feed from Wegner to put home team in front, 3-0.
Five different players had shots for the Bulldogs (3-10-3) as Bryan George had one shot on goal.
Asheville will try and snap a four-game losing streak on Saturday when the Bulldogs host Liberty at Greenwood Field starting at 2:30 p.m.
