Men's Tennis Competes at ITA Carolinas Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team is participating this weekend in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Carolinas Regional behind held at UNC Chapel Hill and Duke. Action got underway on Thursday with doubles action.
The Bulldog doubles team of Jonas Brobeck and Matt Waissen and Adrien Langeard and Thomas Rees split matches on Thursday.
Both teams won their opening matches and advanced to the Round of 32. Brobeck and Waissen downed Romino Blanco and Yven Hesslin of USC Upstate, 8-4. Langeard-Rees won a tight match vs. Dymtro Kovalevych and Anton Protetsenko of South Carolina State, 9-8.
Both teams lost in the next round to nationally-ranked opponents. The doubles team of William Parker and Oystein Steiro of UNC Chapel Hill edged Brobeck-Waissen, 8-6. South Carolina's doubles team of Andrew Adams and Nick Jones edged out Langeard-Rees, 8-6.
Singles action will begin today.
