Ristic Takes First in Hurdles at UNC Chapel Hill

Ristic outlasted his competitors with a time of 8.28, the second fastest time in school history.
"We were really happy to see Milan take first in the hurdles against a strong field," commented Asheville coach Jesse Norman. "Milan continues to get better with each meet."
Ristic also competed in the 200 meters and came in sixth place with a time of 22:32. Stuart Johnson finished 11th (23.52)
Other highlights from the meet came from the Bulldog women's team in the mile. Asheville placed three runners in the top 11. Sophomore Melanie Kulesz finished fourth (5:11.15), while Emma Bussard (5:11.18) came in sixth place. Clair Powell (5:23) took 11th place.
Sophomore Kylie Smith came in ninth in the 3000 meters with a time of 11:27. Erin Putnam posted a time of 11:36.
The men's distance team also had some good results on Saturday. Sam Maynard came in eighth in the mile at a time of 4:27. Nick Summers took 11th at 4:32, while Eliud Chirchir was right behind Summers in 12th at 4:37.
In the 3000 meters, freshman Tyler Michael came in 13th with a time of 9:13. Jay Barringer was 14th at 9:36.
Both Bulldog teams will be in action this weekend at the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State (Feb. 4-5).
"All in all this was a good meet for our team," stated Norman. "We showed improvement from two weeks ago up at Appalachian State and hopefully the good results we had here will give us some momentum for this weekend at ETSU."
