ETSU Edges UNC Asheville 2-1 in Double Overtime

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Aaron Schonfeld's goal in the 103rd minute gave East Tennessee State a 2-1 double overtime win over visiting UNC Asheville Saturday evening at Buccaneer Field.
The snakebit Bulldogs (2-5) lost their fourth straight match with the last three being by just one goal.
Asheville had tied the match in the 36th minute when freshman Kenneth Lingerfelt scored his first career goal to make the match 1-1.
The Buccaneers (5-2-0) out-shot the Bulldogs on the night 26-12 but goalkeeper Lassi Hurskainen made four saves to keep the game tied.
David Geno gave the home team the lead with a goal in the 18th minute for a 1-0 ETSU advantage.
The Bulldogs finally return home on Wednesday night when they host Gardner-Webb in their Big South Conference opener starting at 4 p.m. The match will be video-streamed and can be seen at www.uncabulldogs.com
