Men's Tennis Goes Unbeaten on First Day of UNC Asheville Open

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's tennis team went unbeaten on Friday during the first day of the UNC Asheville Open at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center.

Seven different singles players won matches in either the first round of flight one or in quarterfinals of flight two. In doubles, the Bulldogs will have three teams competing in the semifinals. One of the best matches of the day came when Nathan White and Nicolai Nonnenbroich edged Gardner-Webb's team of Andrew Veeder and Andrew Carter, 9-8.

Action will continue in the tournament with singles play beginning at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free.
