ROCK HILL, S.C. - The UNC Asheville baseball team had two players honored by the Big South Conference on Wednesday as the league announced its award winners for the 2010 regular season on the second day of the 2010 Big South Conference Championship at Winthrop Ballpark.

Sophomore right-handed pitcher Ryan Dull earned a spot on the Big South's All-Conference second team. Dull enjoyed an excellent year for the Bulldogs as he finished the 2010 season with a 6-4 record and team-leading 4.40 ERA. He was second on the team in strikeouts with 45 and led the club in complete games with three. Dull also earned one save on the year and topped the Bulldogs in innings pitched with 88.0. He was named Big South Pitcher of the Week once this season and was nominated twice more. Dull helped seal UNC Asheville's spot in this year's Big South Conference Tournament with a 3-0 shutout of Gardner-Webb last Thursday afternoon.

Senior infielder/right-handed pitcher Justin Schumer was named to the Big South All-Academic team for the third consecutive year. The Charlotte native enjoyed both success on and off the field this year and during his career. He made the Big South Presidential Honor Roll for three straight years and has made the Athletic Director's 3.0 & Above Club eight times. On the field, Schumer led the Bulldogs in hitting with a .384 average, home runs (9), RBI (37), runs scored (39) and hits (73). He also picked up two wins and a save on the mound in 2010.
