Clodfleter Wins Triple Jump at Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, NC - The UNC Asheville men's and women's track and field teams performed well at the PowerSox Invitational hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University on Saturday.
Freshman Ashlei Clodfelter led the way for the women's team. She took first in the triple jump with a jump of 10.33 meters.
Other highlights included Jennifer Black placing fourth in the 5000-meter run with a time of 21:20.84. Ashley Hunt placed fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.19. Charlotte Mull also finished in fifth place in the 100 with a time of 13.53. Fellow teammate, Corey McClintock took 10th with a time of 13.87. Mull and McClintock also finished eighth and ninth in the 200-meters with times of 28.40 and 28.47.
Emily Pineda took fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:30.64. Claire Anderson took sixth in the javelin with a throw of 26.43 meters.
On the men's side, freshman Jordan Yarbrough took second in the long jump with a season's best jump of 6.83 meters. Fellow teammate, Nick Mozzone also turned in a season's best in the high jump. Mozzone finished third with a leap of 1.90 meters.
Other highlights included Simon Haake placing sixth in the pole vault (2.75m). Jeremy Harn took ninth in the discus (29.21m). Chris Murray took 10th in the 800-meter run (2:03.70).
