Asheville (7-18, 2-10 BSC) will try to end a 10-game road losing streak on Saturday. The Bulldogs are trying to move up in the league standings but will have a tough game against the Panthers (14-11, 7-5 BSC). High Point downed Asheville 77-63 at Justice Center on Jan. 25.
"High Point is a very talented team with a lot of weapons," stated Asheville coach Betsy Blose. "We'll need to play very well to have a chance at beating them. They're very tough to beat at home. "
Asheville played last Monday night against Big South-leader Gardner-Webb and battled the powerful Runnin' Bulldogs before falling 74-63.
"We did a good job competing against Gardner-Webb and did some great things throughout the game," said Blose. "But in the end we just had too many turnovers and just couldn't get that key basket or stop to make it really close."
Asheville out-rebounded Gardner-Webb 41-34 in the game and shot a season-high 90 percent from the free throw line (18-of-20). However, the Bulldogs made 23 turnovers during the game.
Asheville is at home the rest of the season after Saturday. The Bulldogs host defending BSC champion Liberty (Feb. 27) next Saturday afternoon before finishing the regular season off with games vs. Radford (March 1) and Winthrop (March 5).
