Tennis Teams Reschedule Opening Matches

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville men's and women's tennis teams were hoping to open the 2010 season this weekend with matches on the road but the incoming winter storm has changed those plans.

The Bulldog women's team was scheduled to begin the season at Furman on Saturday afternoon. That match has been postponed and will be played on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. Both the men's and women's team were scheduled to play at North Carolina Central on Sunday afternoon. Those matches will now be played on Friday, March 5 at 5 p.m.

The men's team will open the 2010 season next weekend at their new home at the Crowne Plaza Tennis Center. The Bulldogs battle Mars Hill on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 3 p.m.
