ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's basketball team takes a break from non-conference play on Friday night when the Bulldogs host North Carolina Central at Justice Center starting at 7 p.m. Friday's game will be video-streamed and can be seen at www.bigsouthsports.com.

Asheville (5-13, 1-5 BSC) hopes to end a five-game losing streak on Friday. However, the Eagles bring a four-game winning streak into the game and have improved their record to 6-11.

"North Carolina Central is playing very well right now," declared Asheville coach Betsy Blose. "They played a really difficult non-conference schedule that saw them on the road for much of the first two months of the season. However, they've gotten some confidence with some wins, and they'll be ready to play on Friday."

The Bulldogs effort has been excellent the past five games. Asheville is out-rebounding its opponents and playing pretty good defense. However, the Bulldogs are really struggling on offense. Betsy Blose's club is averaging just 57.1 points per game and has not scored more than 59 points in one game the past eight contests.

"We're just not scoring enough points," stated Blose. "We're averaging 21 turnovers per game and missing too many shots. I've challenged our team to get better in both those areas and hopefully we will."

Junior forward Lindsey Montgomery continues to have a great season for the Bulldogs. She has posted six double-doubles on the year. "Monty" is averaging 12.4 points and a Big South-leading 9.9 rebounds per game.

NOTES - Asheville hosts High Point on Monday night before embarking on another three-game road trip...the Bulldogs play five of their final six games of the year at Justice Center...Asheville is out-rebounding its opponents 39.3-36.8 and have out-rebounded six of its last nine opponents.
