The Bulldogs (8-4) dropped a tough five-set match to Wofford (7-2), 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 26-28, 15-11, earlier in the day before dropping Winston-Salem State to 1-9 25-15, 25-14, 25-14.
Miotto entered the day 44 digs shy of the Big South and UNC Asheville school record held by Elissa Steffen who had 2,125 digs from 1991-94. Miotto had 37 digs in the match against Wofford and then added 16 digs giving her 2,134 career digs. The top five dig leaders in the Big South each played at UNC Asheville.
Miller had 13 kills in the Wofford match as she was the Bulldogs' leading hitter on the day. Lauren Ficker had 15 kills and three blocks against the Terriers and then added nine kills against Winston-Salem State.
"The Wofford match was a great match," said Asheville head coach Julie Torbett. "We battled point for point but Wofford were a little more balanced and they played very well. But I continue to be impressed with how well our team plays under tough circumstances."
UNC Asheville will play next weekend in Orangeburg, S.C. at the South Carolina State tournament.
