Tiffany Gwynn Joins Women's Basketball Staff

ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? UNC Asheville women's basketball coach Betsy Blose this afternoon has announced the hiring of former Hampton University assistant coach Tiffany Gwynn as an assistant coach for the Bulldog program upon approval of the school's Board of Trustees.

 

“I am so excited that Tiffany has decided to become a member of my staff,” stated Blose. “She comes highly recommended from people I trust and admire in our profession.”

 

Gwynn has been at Hampton for four years and was the program's associate head coach the past two seasons. Prior to her time at Hampton, she served as an assistant coach at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1999-2004.

 

Gwynn played and graduated at fellow Big South member Liberty University. She was a part of the Flames squad' that captured the 1997 and 1998 Big South Conference championships. The 1998 squad finished the regular season with a 28-0 record and defeated the Bulldogs in the Big South title game. She was an assistant coach at Liberty during the 1998-99 campaign when the Flames won their third straight Big South championship.

 

“As a former player at Liberty University, she is familiar with the Big South Conference,” declared Blose. “She has extensive Division I recruiting experience and will bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to our program. I am looking forward to working with Tiffany and learning from her, as well.”
