Bulldog Coaches on Twitter
06.16.2009 | Women's Basketball
ASHEVILLE, N.C.?UNC Asheville women's basketball head coach Betsy Blose and men's soccer head coach Steve Cornish can now be followed on Twitter.
"We have found that many of our fans, alumni, student-athletes and recruits have begun to tap into the Twitter craze," Blose said. "We are excited that we can communicate with all of our fans in a new way!"
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and receive updates, known as "tweets." "Tweets" are text-based posts of up to 140 characters, displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to other people who are known as "followers." All users must create accounts to join.
"Utilizing twitter is a new avenue for us to talk about UNC Asheville women's basketball, the success of other Bulldog programs and our university," Blose said. "Additionally, some of my tweets will be life lessons basketball has taught me as a person, an employee, and a coach. Our tweets will be simple, to the point, interactive and will allow our fans and recruits a window into our program."
