ASHEVILLE, N.C.?UNC Asheville has moved the start time of its Saturday, May 9, baseball game against North Carolina A&T up one hour due the possibilities of thunderstorms in the Asheville area.

The scheduled double header will begin at Noon with Ryan Dull pitching for UNC Asheville against Nick Oelker for North Carolina A&T. Pitching match-ups for the second game have not yet been announced. Both games can be heard live on uncabulldogs.com

The Bulldogs will be attempting to snap a four-game losing streak as it plays five of its final six regular season games at Greenwood Field. Asheville did not play any mid-week games this week due to final exams.

Catlin Carter continues to lead the Bulldogs in hitting with a .309 average. Only three times since 1986 has the Bulldogs leading hitter hit under .333. The lowest batting average for a Bulldog player who led the team in hitting is .315 by Eric Filipek in 1995. Kevin Weidenbacher has been hitting the ball well. Over the last 10 games, the senior shortstop is 14-for-40 (.350) with a pair of extra base hits. He has his season average up to .285 which is now second on the team.  Reed Kreiser's six home runs leads the team while Justin Schumer has hit five home runs with a team-high 30 RBI. The Bulldogs are last in the Big South with a .255 team batting average.

The Aggies began the season 8-26 but have won nine of their last 14 games. They are now 17-31 on the year and 9-8 in MEAC conference play. A&T is hitting .300 as a team and are led by C.J. Beatty who is hitting .387 with 23 doubles, eight home runs and 33 RBI. Nick Rogers leads the team with 10 home runs and a club high 45 RBI. Opponents are hitting .308 against Aggie pitching. A&T has struggled holding runners on base as opponents have stolen 125 bases in 147 attempts this season. The Aggies begin their conference tournament on Thursday in Ormond Beach, Fla.

UNC Asheville has won the last six meetings between the two schools including a pair of 6-5 wins last last season. The last N.C. A&T victory in the series was in Asheville on April 18, 2000. Last year Jeremy Hall picked up his first win of the year on March 11, in Greensboro. Taylor Wohlwend got the win in the April 23, game at McCormick Field.
