Track and Field Squads Set Numerous Personal Records at Big South Meet

The UNC Asheville men's and women's track and field squads have enjoyed some solid success in the 2009 season. We have listed below some of the top performances and what the Bulldogs accomplished at the Big South Conference Outdoor Meet at Radford the weekend of April 16-18.

 

Natalie Pearson (100): Her 11.85 time in the prelims was a personal best and a school record.

Natalie Pearson (200): Her 24.22 time in the finals was personal best and a school record.

 

Will Beasley (Triple Jump): His jump of 13.78 meters was the second best in school history and a personal best.

 

Simon Haake (Javelin): His throw of 55.56 meters was the second best in school history and a personal best.

 

Nick Mozzone (High Jump): His jump of 1.90 meters was the third best in school history and a personal best.

 

Daniel Corriher (Shot Put): His throw of 13.90 meters was a season best.

 

Emily Pineda (Discus): Her throw of 35.39 meters was a personal and seasonal best.

 

Rebekah Pineda (Hammer Throw): Her throw of 36.04 meters was a personal and seasonal best.

 

Dane Corriher (400 meters): His time of 50.0 seconds was a seasonal high.

 

Emma Bussard (3K Steeplechase): Her time of 11:45.93 was a personal best and a school record.

 

Sam Maynard (800 meters): His time of 1.55.63 in the prelims was a seasonal best.

 

Andrew Burnette (800 meters): His time of 1:58.87 in the prelims was a seasonal best.

 

Mackenzie Wheaton (10K): Her time of 42:59.72 in the finals was a personal best.

 

Erin Putman (10K): Her time of 42:46.76 in the finals was a personal best.

 

Morgan Weeks (Heptathlon): Her point total of 3,559 was the second best in school history. Her time of 28.01 in the 200 meters was a personal best, while her long jump of 4.63 meters was the second best in school history in the heptathlon.
