ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's basketball team is back at home Tuesday night when the Bulldogs host future Big South Conference foe Campbell at Justice Center starting at 7 p.m. The game can be seen via video-streaming for a small fee at www.bigsouthsports.com.

Asheville looks to extend its two-game winning streak. The Bulldogs (2-1) posted an 82-58 win over Lees-McRae on Saturday as they outscored the Bobcats 48-15 in the second half. Campbell is also 2-1 on the season and knocked off North Carolina Central last Wednesday 79-63.

"Wanda Watkins (Campbell head coach) is such a good coach and her teams are always well-coached and know what to do," commented Asheville coach Betsy Blose. "Campbell is the best team we've played so far this year, so it's going to take 40 minutes of good basketball to have a chance to beat them."

The Bulldogs played great in the second half against Lees-McRae as Asheville had six players in double figures. However, the Bobcats totally outplayed the Bulldogs in the last 10 minutes of the first half. LMC went on a 25-6 run to seize the lead and built a 43-34 halftime lead.

"We did a lot of good things in the second half but I wasn't happy with how we played in the first half," said Blose. "We got off to a good start and then suddenly we broke down and allowed them to build a pretty big lead. We're not going to be able to do that against Campbell."

Dana Wagner led Asheville with 16 points, while Linda Aughburns continued her good work with her second straight double-double as she scored 14 points and collected 11 rebounds. Lindsey Montgomery just missed a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Campbell won last year's meeting 65-53 in Buies Creek as Amanda O'Neill scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

NOTING THE BULLDOGS - UNC Asheville has won two straight games...the Bulldogs out-rebounded Lees-McRae 49-22 on Saturday...Kendall Shepard had a career-high eight assists on Saturday...the Bulldogs play their next three games on the road and don't play at home again until Dec. 11 against Southern Wesleyan.
