ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville women's basketball team is home Saturday afternoon at Justice Center against Lees-McRae starting at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast by WISE Radio (1310-AM) with the pre-game show starting at 1:30 p.m. The game will be video-streamed and can be seen for a small fee at www.bigsouthsports.com.

The Bulldogs (1-1) picked up a road victory on Tuesday night at South Carolina State as Asheville led from start-to-finish in a 67-60 win. The win helped make up for a disappointing opening-game loss to Newberry last Saturday, 66-53.

"We did a nice job at South Carolina State on Tuesday," stated Bulldog coach Betsy Blose. "We build a lead and had to hang on at the end but we got the job done and that was nice to see."

Asheville had two players get double-doubles in the game as Chioma Okoli had 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Linda Aughburns tallied 14 points and collected 10 rebounds. The Bulldogs won the game without the services of junior forward Lindsey Montgomery who missed the game due to a death in the family.

Asheville turns its eyes to a Lees-McRae team that is playing its first game of the year. The Bobcats played two exhibition games and lost them both.

"We don't know much about Lees-McRae, but we do know they play in a tough league and are well-coached," commented Blose. "We simply want to get better and better with each game."

The Bulldogs are home again on Tuesday when they host Campbell at Justice Center starting at 7 p.m.
