Volleyball Falls at Charleston Southern in Five Sets

The Bulldogs (20-8, 9-2 Big South) and Buccaneers (14-14, 5-8 Big South) went five sets for the second time this season with the home team winning each time. Saturday's scores went 25-19, 25-21, 25-22, 23-25, 15-8.
Amanda Hill led CSU with a match-high 23 kills while hitting .432 and adding 18 digs. Nichole Diller added 15 kills but it was the Buccaneer block that was the difference in the match. Cori Holeman had six blocks and Crissy Skokan had eight blocks as CSU held Asheville to a .194 attack percentage in the match.
Cindi Miller had 12 kills as the Bulldogs had three players with double-figure kills and five players with double figure digs. Raquel Miotto had 15 digs while Rachel Guinane, Brooke and Bridget Holliday each had 11 digs. The Bulldogs had just six blocks as CSU hit .244 in the match.
The loss knocks Asheville out of first place in the Big South for the first time this season. The Bulldogs will have three road matches next week beginning with Gardner-Webb on Tuesday night.
