Bulldogs Live to Start on Nov. 4 at Scully's

Bulldog Women Host Liberty and SportsSouth on Monday

ASHEVILLE, N.C.?UNC Asheville and Liberty will put winning streaks on the line as they face each other in an important Big South Conference match-up Monday night at the Justice Center. The 7 p.m. game will be broadcast live on Fox SportsSouth.

UNC Asheville (7-11, 4-1) is coming off an emotional 52-50 victory over Radford on Saturday. Ana Baker hit the game-winning shot with :03 seconds left on the clock to give the Bulldogs their third straight victory.

Asheville had not won three straight games since winning all three games in the 2007 Big South Tournament. The current four game conference win streak is the longest regular season conference win streak since the ?Dogs defeated Birmingham-Southern, Winthrop, High Point, and Radford in 2004.

The Bulldogs have  held Big South opponents to 55.8 points per game after allowing non-conference opponents to 70.9 points per game.

Liberty (9-7, 3-0 Big South) was a 59-49 winner at Presbyterian on Saturday for its six-straight victory. The Flames are led by Big South Preseason Player of the Year Megan Frazee.

The defending Big South champions make their first trip to the Justice Center since winning back the conference crown last March in Asheville. The Flames have held opponents to 58 points or less in all six  wins on their streak. Frazee leads the team averaging 19.8 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. Twin sister Moriah Frazee is averaging 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. The Frazee sister account for 53 percent of Liberty's scoring this season.

Liberty has dominated the series with a 36-7 all-time record against Asheville. The Bulldogs last win in the series came 54-51 on Feb. 24, 2007 in Lynchburg. The last time the ?Dogs won in Asheville was during the 1996-97 season. The Bulldogs are 1-26 against Liberty since 1997.  

Monday's game will be the first regionally televised women's basketball game Asheville has played in at the Justice Center since the 2007 Big South Championship game The Bulldogs defeated Radford 67-57.
