ASHEVILLE, N.C. ? UNC Asheville volleyball coach Julie Torbett has announced the signing of two players to National Letters-of-Intent today. The two are middle hitter Cindi Miller and outside hitter Lia Scott.

Miller enjoyed a standout prep career at Bellmont HS in Decatur, IN. She was an all-conference performer for three consecutive years and was the team MVP as a senior, leading the team in kills and blocks. Miller made the All Area team her season year and also earned a spot on the All-State team. She lettered for three years in basketball and track. In basketball, Miller was an all-conference performer as a sophomore and junior.

Cindi Miller is a very talented middle hitter from the Midwest,” declared Torbett. “She has played very competitively in that region, and I anticipate her making an immediate impact on our program.”

Scott played at St. Pius X HS in Atlanta. Last fall, she was named the Atlanta 6AAAA Player of the Year. Scott earned All-Area honors as a junior and senior and was Honorable Mention All-State both years.

Lia Scott is a tremendous athlete who can jump out of the gym and is a solid defensive player,” stated Torbett. “Lia is the kind of player you can build a program around. We're very excited about having her at UNC Asheville.”
