Track and Field Teams Compete at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. ? The UNC Asheville men's and women's Outdoor Track and Field squads had their last meet prior to next weekend's Big South Conference meet this weekend at Clemson.
Both Bulldog teams had some excellent results at the Solid Orange Classic.
One of the biggest highlights on the day came from senior Omar Ahmad. He finished third in the long jump with a jump of 6.60 meters.
Adam Matthews had a good day on Saturday with a fifth place finish in the 3000 Steeplechase at a time of
Matt Holman took ninth in the 800 meters with a time of
Duane Stepp competed in the 200 (23.82) and 400 (53.46). Dane Corriher ran a 22.77 in the 200. Daniel Bandoly battled in the 100 at a time of 11.39.
Brandon Hamilton had a time of 58.64 in the 400 Hurdles.
Senior Erik Nabi had another nice performance in the javelin (48.56). Daniel Corriher finished ninth in the hammer throw (40.37).
On the women's side, Katie Olert had a strong effort tin the 800 and fifth in the event with a time of
Emily Becker took 12th in the 1500 (
Corrie Trotter came in fifth in the high jump (1.50). Meredith Rhyne competed in the shot put (6.08).
Morgan Weeks took an eighth against a tough field in the javelin with a toss of 23.94.
The Big South Conference Meet takes place at the Winthrop Track and Field Complex starting on Thursday and running through Saturday.
